I have read an informative article on how to prepare for a baby without going broke. It contains some practical tips from someone who has been there and was able to do it on a budget.
Instead of romanticizing the arrival of a newborn, the article highlights some realities about babies. They will outgrow the stuff fast. It is okay to use second-hand stuff since most of them were barely used by the first owner.
One of the tips was to buy at baby consignment stores. I also read in another article that the parents sold the stuff at the consignment stores as well so they can buy clothes a size bigger. Sounds practical. I am a streamlining-freak. If it is not used or functional, I throw. Selling or even donating to someone who needs it is better for me.
Too bad though that I cannot find any consignment stores here in Manila.
When googling ‘pre-owned baby stuff’, the results are often from sulit.com.ph or a similar online market site. There are the moms who sell it on their own through multiply. Then I came across www.offspring.com.ph which offers both new and pre-owned stuff.
These are all nice but if I am going to buy stuff, I would like to be able to go and see it for myself before I pay. There are not that much items to choose from as well.
So anyone know of a consignment store for baby stuff, please leave a message.
