I have mentioned several times already in the past posts that I am still yet to buy baby stuff. I also admitted a few days ago that I am going to need help in buying these stuff.
I named my blog ‘antibabyshower’ because I wanted to guard against the buying frenzy and impracticality that having a new baby brings. I have to admit that until now I am still icked out at the thought of being a pregnant centerpiece, I am touched that two groups of people told me yesterday that they are planning to throw a baby shower for me.
I have lost too many girlfriends to even think that someone would throw a baby shower for me. I hated the thought of throwing a party just so I can solicit gifts from people. But these two groups of people seem happy to do it, even excited. It makes me smile to think about how diverse the people to attend those gatherings.
Again and again, help comes for us and our baby. I just need to ask for it. A Big Dude is still watching over us.
I akways believed that people, both during the good deeds and the bad deeds, represent that Dude’s intervention. I know that I have blocked off many other people who wanted to help. I did so sadly because their kind of help tend to run counter my plans and their presence screws up my mojo. Right now, both the Dude and the people around me have been letting me do my thing and they only strategically intervene when necessary.
